Pluto is the outermost planet used in modern astrology — reclassified as a dwarf planet by astronomers in 2006, but unchanged in astrological significance. Named for the Roman god of the underworld, Pluto governs what is hidden beneath the surface: power, sexuality, death, rebirth, and the deep unconscious forces that compel behavior. Pluto destroys in order to regenerate, and nothing under its influence ever returns to exactly what it was.
